6 Beautiful Butterfly Embroidery Patterns

A symbol of transformation and beauty, butterflies are super interesting and fun to embroider. A welcome insect in anyone’s garden, these pollinators remind me of warmer months. Regardless of if you’re embroidering a more abstract minimalist design or a highly detailed and realistic design, the colors and intricate patterns seen in the wings of these beautiful insects are extremely fun to stitch and translate really well to embroidery. Below I’m sharing 6 beautiful butterfly embroidery patterns in a few different styles, and two of them are free! All are available for instant download via a digital file. Enjoy!

These butterfly patterns don’t come with instructions, but it’s always fun to leave it up to your creativity and imagination to see what you can create. Some stitches I recommend playing around with and using with these patterns would be long and short stitch, satin stitch, and french knots.
